Àfrica Ragel
She’s philologists and has got a master’s degree in literary creation. Born in Poblenou, Barcelona, she uses her neighborhood as the scenario for many of her stories.
Her first novel was written at the age of nineteen and since then she hasn’t stopped writing, always in search of the unattainable perfection. Some of the literary awards that she has won are the Ciudad de Valencia for her play Átic, the Manuel Cerqueda y Escalder writing award for her novel Els fantasmes de Vilafoscant, among others.
She has five kids who gave her enough energy to continue on studying, collaborating with different magazines, teaching literary creation, and, once in a while, driving trains of the great underground that moves people around Barcelona.
