Barbara Bongini was born in Milan. She knew at an early age that she would be an artist. She went to art school and subsequently enrolled in an illustration course at the European Institute of Design. After graduating, she embarked on a career in children's publishing, illustrating various series for different age groups for the largest Italian publishing houses. She also has experience in the advertising field, designing packaging materials, flyers, brochures, posters, characters and backgrounds for cartoon series inspired by her books. Likewise, she is the author of several series of interactive children's play books and a picture book on modern children's art. When she is not illustrating, Barbara loves spending time with her 2 children and her cat, watching cartoons and documentaries. She also likes going to bookstores and building her own library of illustrated books, and when she works she is always in the company of her cat Achille di lei who often gives her advice.
