Laia Carrera

She was born in Barcelona in 1982. After working in the education and music sector for years, both things that she loves, she started studying to become an illustrator in the Escola de la Dona in Barcelona. There she learnt her third great passion and decided to exclusively dedicate herself to it, becoming a professional illustrator.

She has published stories with several publishers of children’s literature, worked in children’s magazines, public institutions, private commissions and has also self-published her work.

She has been awarded many prizes, including the International Prize Ciutat Benicarló of Illustrated Album for her book "Quan arriba la por" (2019, Onada Ediciones).
