My name is Violant, and I’m almost fourteen. I never imagined my life would change so much in just one summer. Until June, I was living in New York; now I’m in Barcelona. Back there, I had my mum, lots of friends, Nick… Here, I was faced with some big questions: why hadn’t I met my family in Barcelona before? Can I trust them? It’s a mystery! In trying to solve it, I’ve realised I want to be an investigative journalist. Perhaps my own story has become my first case.
