Susana Lobo is an intelligent and rebellious sixteen-year-old girl, the only daughter of a well-to-do married couple. Her life goes by quite normally until, one day, she discovers by chance a very strange dedication in a book by Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer that her mother keeps among her maiden things.

When she tries to find out what mystery lies behind the dedication, her mother reacts with evasiveness and reticence, which arouses the girl's suspicion of something shady. Susana decides to investigate on her own and soon finds out that her mother is hiding objects, letters and mementos from her maidenhood in a hidden drawer in her room. Things that reveal a mysterious story that she has never been told about and that has to do with her.

Each time the young woman takes a step forward in her secret investigation, the confrontations with her parents become more and more fierce. Little by little, her world crumbles. A world that she discovers is based on a web of lies, darkness and death.
