The characters in this novel are nostalgic about their adolescence, which the author turns into the narrator of this tale. Three boys and a girl were great friends as children and teenagers. Now that they’ve become adults, the men try to pick up the lost thread of their friendship and to find the woman who disappeared from their lives. From the Hipocampos Fountain, via the Relief Sculpture to the Spanish Republic to the iconic Water Tower, the characters re-live their own and shared history in the Barcelona neighbourhood of Poblenou. Two things play a key role in the story: a torn-up letter kept in three sealed envelopes and a coin that has been passed down from mother to daughter, from generation to generation - the cursed man’s coin.
