I was born in Navàs (Barcelona) in 1969. Ten years ago, after studying at the Barcelona Massana school, I presented a book to different publishing houses; I still treasure this book. My first jobs trickled in and with these came my first feelings of excitement, some disappointments too, but a huge amount of good experiences. I learnt the trade of an illustrator with time and lots of hard work. I don't see my job as a mechanical job, because after every new proposal I spend hours searching all kinds of possibilities. In my opinion, the gestation of a book is like a pregnancy; it slowly grows with music, some crises, some tips, tiredness and, in the end, the baby's head appears. This is when the baby needs warmth, needs to be told the stories, dressed, kissed. Handing in illustrations to the editor is like taking your child to school; when the child steps inside, they must look after him as if he were theirs, though you know he isn't.
